WTA Rankings July 2006
Last month when I posted the rankings, the order was as follows:
- 1. Amelie Mauresmo
- 2. Kim Clijsters
- 3. Justine Henin-Hardenne
- 4. Maria Sharapova
- 5. Nadia Petrova
- 6. Svetlana Kuznetsova
- 7. Lindsey Davenport
- 8. Elena Dementieva
- 9. Mary Pierce
- 10. Patty Schnyder
This month, things in the top 5 are pretty much the same, though there’s been a bit of a shuffle in the bottom half.
- 1. Amelie Mauresmo
- 2. Kim Clijsters
- 3. Justine Henin-Hardenne
- 4. Maria Sharapova
- 5. Nadia Petrova
- 6. Elena Dementieva
- 7. Svetlana Kuznetsova
- 8. Patty Schnyder
- 9. Mary Pierce
- 10. Lindsey Davenport
I think Justine Henin-Hardenne is gonna climb to the second spot before the season is out, if she continues as she’s been doing. Amelie Mauresmo might be able to keep her number one spot if her winning streak keeps on. That said, the top 3 are only about 300 points apart. Anything can happen in the world of women’s tennis.
