Wimbledon: Clijsters Cruises to the Semi Finals
Kim Clijsters (no. 2) beat out Na Li of China with a final score of 7-5, 6-4, and will go on to face fellow Belgian player Justine Henin-Hardenne in the semi-finals.
It’s starting to look a lot like the French Open. The two friends faced each other in the semi finals there, too, and that match saw Justine Henin-Hardenne move on to the finals (where she won).
Will it be a repeat performance this year? I don’t know. Wimbledon hasn’t ever been Henin-Hardenne’s strong point, but the player has been doing a great job of it this year. Should be a great match, regardless.
Interestingly, if Sharapova manages to defeat Mauresmo in the semi finals, and Henin-Hardenne beats Clijsters, then S.I.’s Jon Wertheim’s predictions would turn out to be pretty accurate for the finals game.
