Two bullets - one per coast
First off, in an online chat a few days ago, Seattle Storm star Lauren Jackson said she is likely to return to the team this upcoming season. There was speculation during the playoffs that with an uneasy ownership situation as far as the location of the franchise, the league MVP might considering sitting a season and preparing for the Olympics.
Hey LJ - Now that the Storm are remaining in Seattle for at least one year will you return in 2008?
Most likely, yes.
While it’s not the certainty fans might like, that’s probably the best news for now.
A tip of the hat goes to the Women’s Hoops Blog for their find of this note as well as the following.
Connecticut Sun center Margo Dydek has confirmed her pregnancy and might retire from professional basketball. The Hartford Courant reports:
It’s uncertain if Dydek, 33, will return to the WNBA. Coach Mike Thibault said Wednesday that Dydek’s future with the Sun was already in doubt after the season ended.
“When I talked to her after the season, she was 50-50 about even wanting to play in the WNBA anymore,” Thibault said. “So from that standpoint, I’m not surprised. We were anticipating there was a good chance she wasn’t coming back.”
One center stays, another goes… but at least the Storm get some good news when they could most use it.
