The quiet Storm
Still no coach for the Seattle Storm, but the Seattle Post-Intelligencer eliminated one candidate today.
Linda Hargrove, former coach and general manager of the now-defunct Portland Fire and current Washington Mystics general manager, won’t be leaving the nation’s capital.
“I was never a candidate,” Hargrove said Wednesday. “I have had contact with Karen about a lot of things but I have never had a discussion about a position.
“I’m very comfortable in Washington. We’ve built a very good team,” she continued. “I have no desire to leave Washington at all, although I did love the Pacific Northwest when I was in Portland.”
What I would like to know is how these next names have surfaced.
With that cleared up, names like Brian Agler (San Antonio Silver Stars assistant) and Carrie Graf (former Storm assistant, current coach of Canberra Capitals in Australia) are surfacing.
They go on to ask Hargrove what she thinks of both of them, but at this point, it seems like we’re simply coming to elimination based on Karen Bryant’s statement that the next coach would have WNBA experience.
