Tamika Catchings expected to return this weekend
A report from The Associated Press says Indiana Fever star Tamika Catchings is expected to return from her injured foot this weekend. The best part about this for the Fever is they’ve done decently well (4-3) without her in the lineup, which has allowed Katie Douglas to establish herself on the team.
Catchings was with the team as they lost to the San Antonio Silver Stars last night, and is expected to hit the court for a couple of minutes in Sunday’s rematch in Indianapolis. She’s pretty excited, too, according to her WNBA blog.
Everything is going really well right now… so well, in fact, that we have stopped calling it “rehab” and have now moved on to calling it “treatment.” I am moving into a new phase of life!
So now that I’m back on the court, we decided to bump it up to a new word. I’m on the road with the team for the first time this season, and then I go back to the doctor on Saturday… but if the doc clears me, it’s looking good for me to play on Sunday! That would be so awesome!
I expect Tamika to be fairly well healed since there hasn’t been a need to rush her back. Should be fun for the Fever once she gets into game shape. Welcome back, Catch.
