WNBA All-Star Alana Beard signed a four-year extension with the Washington Mystics on Monday.
Beard played through the pain en route to finishing fourth in the league in scoring and feels that the Mystics — who will be led by full-time coach Tree Rollins — have definitely progressed into a playoff team.

The Mystics made it official in removing the “interim” title from Tree Rollins position as head coach of the Washington Mystics.
Rollins took over the team after the resignation of Richie Adubato after losing four of their first five games of the 2007 season. Under Rollins, the Mystics went 15-14 and just missed the WNBA playoffs. […]
