With its 101-77 victory over Cuba, Team USA secured its place in the 2008 Olympic Games.
Candace Parker and Tina Thompson led the Americas with 13.8 PPG, but what makes Parker’s more notable is she averaged less than 19 minutes per game.

Team USA scored enough points to defeat Jamaica with a 48-point showing in the first half, but rules are rules and they played the whole game out - a game the Americans won 115-47.

Eight teams will battle for one automatic berth to Beijing while three others will advance to the play-in tournament. Team USA is the favorite entering the five-day tournament beginning Sept. 26 in Valdivia, Chile. The tournament will also include Canada, Cuba, Argentina, Brazil, Jamaica, Mexico and host Chile.
