Parker, Summitt take home more awards
Candace Parker, the 2008 WNBA Rookie of the Year (yeah, I said it) and Tennessee Lady Vols coach Pat Summitt took home two more awards to cap off a pretty outstanding week.
Parker won her second consecutive John Wooden Award as the most outstanding player in women’s college basketball. Summitt received the Legends in Coaching award, the first female to do so.
After being drafted No. 1 and winning a national title (again), it can’t hurt to top off the most successful college career in history and have your coach be recognized as well. Congrats (again) to Rocky Top.
