Mauresmo Won’t (Publically) Speak Against Henin-Hardenne

by Ingrid Diaz on February 22nd, 2006

…sort of.

Amelie Mauresmo wishes not to be controversial and start a public flame war against fellow player Justine Henin-Hardenne, but she hints at the fact that she probably flames her in private.

AMELIE Mauresmo hinted that relations between her and Justine Henin-Hardenne might not be cordial after the Belgian’s failure to complete the Australian Open final in Melbourne last month.

Asked if she had been disappointed at Henin-Hardenne allegedly not apologising, Mauresmo said: “My reactions are still the same, meaning I don’t want to get into a controversy on this.”I have my opinions but I want to keep it personal. If I have some things to say it’s not to you guys I want to say them.

“You can write what you want, or say what you want, or suggest things in the paper, but I don’t want to get into the controversy.”

Heh, talk about passive agressive. It’s like saying, “Yes, I’m totally pissed at her … but I’m not going to tell you that, because I don’t want to start anything.”

Drama, it’s what makes the journalism wheel go round and round.
