Mauresmo Hits Spain for WTA Championships Promotion
Amelie Mauresmo hit Madrid, Spain early to help promote the $3 million WTA Championships.
Mauresmo spent some time with a variety of media throughout Wednesday morning and afternoon, including Spanish newspaper El Mundo and MARCA, the main sport paper and one of the sponsors of the event. She also did interviews with some more newspapers, sports papers and radio, and even had time for a photo shoot in front of the famous Cibeles, a fountain where soccer team Real Madrid always celebrates its biggest victories.
She should now be back in France, though.
Which leads me to wonder who’s going to fill the last two spots in the Championships. It’s kind of a musical chairs kind of situation. Two spots remain, and Martina Hingis, Kim Clijsters, and Patty Schnyder are all clammering for the remaining two spots.
My money’s on Clijsters and Hingis qualifying. Though Schnyder has a pretty good shot as well.
Guess we’ll see.
