Mauresmo Donates US $57,000 to Cancer Research
Amelie Mauresmo has donated $57,000 (the value of a Porsche) to aid cancer research. The Institut Curie, in Paris, France, graciously accepted the donation last week.
As the singles winner of the 2005 Sony Ericsson WTA Tour Championships presented by Porsche this past November, Mauresmo was awarded a Porsche Cayenne to be donated to a charity of her choice. Mauresmo has chosen to donate the value of the 2006 Porsche Cayenne S, US $57,000, to the Institut Curie, a foundation dedicated to the research and treatment of cancer.
