Mauresmo, Dementieva Top Seeds at Stuttgart

The $650,000 WTA event in Stuttgart begins today, and the top seeds are Amelie Mauresmo and Elena Dementieva.

Joining Dementieva are fellow Russians Svetlana Kuznetsova and Nadia Petrova.

And joining Mauresmo is fellow French player Mary Pierce.

Mauresmo might be the top seed at this event, but she’s been cursed with a losing streak the past two years. So let’s see what she manages to do this year.

Notable absences include: Henin-Hardenne, Sharapova, Clijsters, and the Williams sisters.
