Lisa Leslie, Candace Parker could be what WNBA needs
Could the newly-paired combo of Lisa Leslie and Candace Parker in Los Angeles be a boon for the WNBA? Yes, at least that’s according to a column from BlackAthlete.net.
It’s no dream anymore. There they were during the photo shoot, looking at home as they stood side-by-side, Parker wearing No. 3, the same number little girls in Tennessee wear in tribute to Parker, and Leslie wearing No. 9, the number on so many replica jerseys worn by Sparks fans.
There’s still the uncertainty of whether Leslie can fully regain her form after skipping last season. There’s also the uncertainly of how quickly Parker can recover from the separated left shoulder she played with during the NCAA tournament.
But neither issue seemed pressing during a photo shoot when the two basketball stars fixed their hair, chatted and occasionally giggled – when the photographer wasn’t instructing them to exchange serious looks, that is.
It’s long been obvious where I think this stands, but the marketing numbers for the league can do nothing but improve with this pairing and the strong upper echelon of teams in the WNBA.

I am a huge fan of candace….she inspired to play basketball and i think she is amazing..i would love to meet her one day..

i want to be just like you cause u r my role model. You and my cousin Tan White, Maya Moore. I wanted to be like her.since u have more experience then her i want to be just like u.

i Have alot of people calling the house for me. about playing for them. i suppose to be going to Alanta. this All American team. In all these AAU teams. but i never had the chance to go cause my parents. MY parents always thanks some one is getting over them. but thats nots nesscary true though..

Hey Lisa and Candace, i jsut wanted to say that you two are amazing players. You guys have been an ispiration to me ever since i started playing basketball. Its amazing how you guys dunk because there is not alot of women in the WNBA who dunk. I hope one of these days that i could meet you two and the whole team because i live in Canada and not alot of people down there get their dreams come true. Hopefully you guys get this email and email me back because that would make my day. And i would just like to say that basketball is my life and without it, its like there is a piece of me missing, and i hopeone of these days i could play like you two. And i will be cheering for the Los Ageles Sparks even if they win or lose, because basketball is not always about winning or losing its about how to play the sport and the L.A Sparks show that when they play.
P.S. i have done every school project on the Los Angeles Sparks. :)
