Hunter Pence, fool!

We’ve got a new addition to the b5media Sports channel starting today. He’s a New Year’s Baby (of sorts), but what infant do you know that can swing a bat the way Hunter Pence does?

Houston Astros OF Hunter Pence joins b5 with his own blog about the life of a professional baseball player at InsideTheBallpark.com.

Pence was well on pace to contend for last season’s National League Rookie of the Year award when he went down with an injury, but he’s healed, prepping for the season and blogging for b5.

You may be wondering about the headline of this post, so here’s the explanation.

I’m a huge baseball fan as is my friend Scooter. He’s a big Astros fan and I remember one day last MLB season when Scooter sent me a IM that read “Hunter Pence, fool!” after this rookie went off in a game. It’s been a running thing for Scooter and I to toss back and forth to each other for pretty much anything, but his love for Hunter Pence knows no bounds (except for maybe his fiancé).

Hunter will personally pen a weekly blog post to detail the latest happenings in his life as one of the Astros. Additionally, this blog will be updated on a daily basis to keep everyone updated on Hunter and the Astros. As a rookie, Hunter hit .322 with 17 homeruns and 69 RBIs. He also collected 30 doubles, nine triples and 11 stolen bases.

Anyway, welcome, Hunter, to b5media and the Sports Channel.
