An update on the Atlanta Somethings
A little update on the new Atlanta franchise from the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
The team should have its name next week, according to the article, and the team said they have sold about 1,500 season tickets so far. I imagine there will be a rush once the name/logo are unveiled and you get some players on the roster.
But four months from its first game — May 17 at Connecticut — the team still lacks two essential ingredients:
• A name.
• And some players.
The name will come soon. The team announced four finalists last month — Dream, Sizzle, Surge and Flight — and plans to unveil its choice next week. Hint: You can scratch Flight from the contenders, judging from Bolen’s difficulty recalling that name when asked Tuesday to recite the list of finalists.
Well, you’re a little over four months away from seeing the new team in meaningful WNBA action.
