Hornbuckle gets redemption, sends Lady Vols to championship game

Ball don’t lie.
Alexis Hornbuckle had missed every shot she’d taken in the game, but on her eighth try, she sent the Tennessee Lady Vols to the national championship game. Hornbuckle scored with less than a second remaining in the game to give the No. 1 Lady Volsa 47-46 victory over No. 2 LSU. From the […]

Stanford “upsets” UConn

While technically, a No. 2 beat a No. 1, it was more 1A and 1B.
Stanford shot very well from the perimeter, moved the ball around and defeated the top team in the tournament on their way to a National Championship berth.
Congrats Stanford.

Another Candace Parker feature

If you had any doubt Candace Parker would be going No. 1 in Wednesday’s WNBA draft, read this.
“I don’t think the shoulder will be a problem,” (Los Angeles Sparks coach Michael) Cooper said. “But even if it is, she’ll still be a No. 1 pick because she can definitely play basketball.”
Yeah, she’s going to LA. […]

Here comes the merchandising

The Atlanta Dream unveiled their new uniforms Thursday, and well, they’re pretty blah. I could give my thoughts, but I figure I’ll leave that up to Paul Lukas at Uni Watch.
The WNBA’s Atlanta Dream (yes, that’s what they’re called) just unveiled their new uni, which is about as boring as all the other WNBA unis.
Let’s […]

She’s good to go, said Tennessee team doctors Thursday.

Candace Parker suffers shoulder injury

Just glanced over at our TV showing the Tennessee-Texas A&M regional final and it appeared that Candace Parker suffered a shoulder problem. She was shown visibly grimacing while continuing to play and was eventually taken to the locker room.
I’ll have more once I can sit and check it out further.
