Challenge Bell Quarterfinals

The Challenge Bell is moving swiftly along, and the players are now on to the quarterfinals.
Here’s the singles draw at the moment:

Jankovic vs. Poutchkova
Bremond vs. Sucha
Osterloh vs. Wozniak
Perry vs. Bartoli

I’ll venture a prediction that the semi finals will be Jankovic vs. Bremond and Wozniak vs. Bartoli.
Let’s see if my bets are smart.

Current Rankings 11/2/06

Well, there’s been a bit of a shuffle since I last posted the top ten rankings. Most notably, of course, is the switch between Justine Henin-Hardenne and Maria Sharapova. The Russian has now taken second place, pushing Henin-Hardenne down to the number three spot.

On to the Challenge Bell!

Next up in the WTA tour is the Challenge Bell in belle Quebec. This tournament runs from October 28th - November 5th.
So, we’re off to the second round where the following players are meeting up:

Sharapova is On Fire

Well, it’s official, Sharapova has her eyes set on #1. She just tore through the Linz Open, defeating everyone in her path and taking home another #1 prize.
Impressive!
The final face-off was against Nadia Petrova, who defeated the Sharapova in the first set (5-3), but lost the following two sets 5-7, 2-6.
