Well, I predicted that Mauresmo was going to win (or I put my money on her to win, anyway), and win she did, defeating Belgian Justine Henin-Hardenne 2-6, 6-3, 6-4. This marks the first time in 81 years that a Frenchwoman has won at Wimbledon. It also marks Amelie Mauresmo’s first time at the Wimbledon […]

What an amazing match! Wow! I actually thought Mauresmo was in trouble after she blew that second set against Maria Sharapova. But man, did she come back in the third set. Final score, 6-3, 3-6, 6-2.
Great stuff out on that grass court today. Amelie Mauresmo will now be facing Justine Henin-Hardenne in the finals. This […]

Justine Henin-Hardenne defeated fellow Belgian player, Kim Clijsters 6-4, 7-6 (4). Great game between the two players. Clijsters did her best, coming close to defeating Henin-Hardenne in the second set, but she blew the tie break in the end.
Henin-Hardenne is off to the finals! One match closer to winning her first Wimbledon title.

Kim Clijsters (no. 2) beat out Na Li of China with a final score of 7-5, 6-4, and will go on to face fellow Belgian player Justine Henin-Hardenne in the semi-finals.
It’s starting to look a lot like the French Open. The two friends faced each other in the semi finals there, too, and that match […]

Man, that was a great match. I was really worried for Mauresmo there in the third set. She totally cruised through the first set, 6-1, then lost the second set to Myskina 3-6. But the world’s number one from France pulled through in the third set, winning the game with a final score of 6-1, […]

Well, the number three seed, Justine Henin-Hardenne beat France’s Severine Bremond 6-4, 6-4. The French player gave Henin-Hardenne an unexpected challenge and held her own against French Open winner. Unfortunately for Bremond, it wasn’t enough to secure a victory.
Henin-Hardenne wasn’t at her sharpest, though. She said, “I wasn’t feeling very well at the beginning of […]

Sharapova swept through the first set against Dementieva, winning 6-1. In the second set, Dementieva put up a bit of a fight, but at the end of it all, Maria Sharapova beat her fellow Russian 6-1, 6-4.
Currently in progress: Bremond is giving Justine Henin-Hardenne an unexpected challenge. Though probably not enough to guarantee the French […]

French top-seed, Amelie Mauresmo has defeated Serbian teenager, Ana Ivanovic 6-3, 6-4.
The match lasted an hour and 9 minutes and seemed like a pretty easy win for Mauresmo, though Ivanovic did put up a bit of a fight towards the end of the second set. Not enough of one, unfortunately, for the younger player.
Mauresmo moves […]
